Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

Clearza respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Clearza mobile application, visit the Clearza website, follow retailer links, or contact us.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Information

Clearza is responsible for deciding how personal data described in this policy is used and is the data controller for that processing. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to contact@clearza.uk.

2. Information Clearza Handles

Clearza does not require users to create an account and does not directly process payments or complete product purchases. Depending on how you use Clearza and how its supporting services are configured, the following limited information may be handled:

  • technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, browser type, approximate network information, IP address, request timestamps, and diagnostic or server-log data;
  • usage information, such as pages or app screens viewed, searches, filters, retailer-link clicks, referral information, and interactions used to operate, secure, or improve the service;
  • affiliate and referral information used to attribute qualifying visits, actions, or purchases to Clearza;
  • information you choose to provide when contacting us, such as your email address, message, and any information included in your correspondence; and
  • favourite-product selections and cached app information stored locally on your device.

Clearza does not ask you to provide payment-card details, bank details, passwords for retailer accounts, identity documents, or special-category personal data through the app. Retailers and their payment providers handle information required for purchases on their own services.

3. Favourites, Cache and Local Device Storage

The Clearza app may store favourites, cached deal information, and related preferences locally on your device so that features work correctly and content can load more efficiently. This locally stored information is not an online Clearza account and may be removed by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app, subject to your device settings and backups.

4. Device Permissions

Clearza does not currently request access to sensitive device permissions such as your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, SMS messages, or phone calls. If additional permissions are introduced in future versions, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

5. How and Why Information Is Used

Where applicable, information may be used to:

  • provide, maintain, cache, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app, website, and backend service;
  • display relevant deal information and enable search, filters, favourites, and retailer redirection;
  • use basic server logs to measure service performance, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security;
  • attribute affiliate referrals and calculate commissions;
  • respond to questions, support requests, complaints, or legal enquiries; and
  • comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Clearza currently does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs within the mobile application. Basic server logs generated by the hosting infrastructure may contain technical information such as IP addresses, request timestamps, and diagnostic information required to operate and secure the service.

6. Lawful Bases

Where the UK GDPR applies, Clearza relies on one or more lawful bases depending on the activity. These may include legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and understanding the service; taking steps requested by you or responding to your communications; compliance with legal obligations; and consent where consent is required, such as for certain non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

When legitimate interests are relied upon, we consider the nature and impact of the processing and aim to use only information reasonably necessary for the stated purpose.

7. Retailer Links and Affiliate Tracking

Clearza contains links to third-party retailer websites. Some links are affiliate links, which may allow an affiliate platform or retailer to recognise that a visit or qualifying transaction originated from Clearza. This may involve referral identifiers, cookies, device or browser information, IP addresses, and transaction-attribution information.

Purchases are completed on third-party services, not within Clearza. Retailers, affiliate networks, payment providers, and other third parties process information under their own privacy policies and are responsible for their own practices. You should review the relevant third party’s privacy information before providing personal data or completing a purchase.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Clearza website and linked affiliate services may use cookies, referral parameters, local storage, or similar technologies for essential operation, security, preferences, performance measurement, and affiliate attribution. Some technologies may be placed only after consent where applicable law requires it.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect website functions or prevent affiliate referrals from being attributed to Clearza.

9. Service Providers and Other Recipients

Information may be processed by organisations that support Clearza, including hosting, infrastructure, security, communications, and affiliate-service providers. Current infrastructure includes Render for backend hosting and GitHub Pages for website hosting. Affiliate networks and participating retailers may process referral and transaction-attribution information when you follow eligible links.

The Android version of Clearza is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect and process information relating to app installation, updates, crash reporting, and other platform services in accordance with Google’s own Privacy Policy and terms.

Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Clearza does not sell users’ personal data in exchange for money.

10. International Data Transfers

Some service providers, affiliate networks, or retailers may operate or store information outside the United Kingdom. Where Clearza is responsible for an international transfer of personal data, we will use an available lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards where required. Third parties may make their own transfers under their respective policies.

11. Data Retention

Clearza keeps personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was handled, including service operation, security, troubleshooting, affiliate reconciliation, responding to communications, and legal or accounting requirements. Retention periods may vary according to the type of information and the settings or policies of the relevant service provider.

Local favourites and cached information generally remain on your device until you remove them, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app, subject to device backups. Correspondence may be retained for as long as needed to resolve the matter and maintain an appropriate record.

12. Data Security

Clearza takes reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no app, website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Your Data-Protection Rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

These rights are not absolute and may not apply where Clearza does not hold identifiable data about you or where a legal exemption applies. Requests can be sent to contact@clearza.uk. We may need enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant data before completing a request.

14. Complaints

Please contact us first so that we can try to address your concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Information about making a complaint is available at ico.org.uk.

15. Children’s Privacy

Clearza is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data directly to Clearza, please contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

16. Third-Party Privacy Policies

This policy applies to processing for which Clearza is responsible. It does not govern the independent processing activities of retailers, affiliate networks, app stores, device manufacturers, operating-system providers, browsers, or other third parties. Their own privacy policies and controls apply to information they collect or receive.

17. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to Clearza, its service providers, legal requirements, or privacy practices. The current version will be posted on this page with its latest update date. Where appropriate, material changes may also be communicated through the app or website.
